Great Blue
Another shot of the Maplewood Park Great Blue Heron. There is no processing trickery here. The Heron is flying over a reflection of a fountain that is out of frame. …

The Bird
Photochallenge.org’s 2009 daily challenge #140, bird. I had this great shot of a goldfinch on one of my back yard feeder before 9am today. I normally shoot the photchallenge subjects over my lunch hour or in the early evening, so when my lunch hour came around today I decided to head over to maplewood park and maybe shoot the geese there as a backup to my gold finch. Well shortly after...

The Salt
Photochallenge.org’s 2009 daily challenge #134, salt. Oh the things we are inspired to do for this challenge… This is some Morton’s Ice Cream Salt, on an upside down champagne flute, lit by the setting sun, in front of a maple tree. I bet the good people at Morton never had such an image of their product. ;-) …

CSXT OK
I originally shot this to be an HDR image (high dynamic range), but I wasn’t satisfied with the colors the HDR brought out, so I took the HDR processed image and turned it monochrome, using an old photo filter called, Palladium.  It’s sort of like sepia on steroids.   ;-) … Southeast Rochester (NY) (Images of America)

The Baseball
Shot for Photochallenge.org’s 2009 daily challenge #123, baseball. I shot this with my 50mm f1.8 prime reversed in front of my 18-55 IS Zoom.  It’s what some of my photography buddies call a “ghetto macro.” Some notes about the ball, to explain what you may think is an odd monochrome.  It is not a normal baseball.  The ball I used was one of my daughter’s tee ball...

The Grass
This was shot for Photochallenge.org’s 2009 daily photochallenge #120, grass. Wildflower
Back into the archives today.  This was taken last June, in empty field near the Lowes store in Webster.   There were about three acres of these flowers (I don’t know what they are) in this great purple and white varaity, and also in a all yellow version. I sure hope they come back this year, I will go spend another few hours there, for sure. … Pinzon Hand-hooked Wildflowers Wool...

The Tire
Taken for Photochallenge.org ‘s 2009 daily challenge #118, tire. Amazon Link We bought this for my daughter’s birthday yesterday. I had to put it together. It’s a pretty cool scooter. I wish I had one when I was a kid. Way better than those “razor” scooters the kids all have cause this one can get off the sidewalk. Not that I’m trying to sell this thing...
