Lets try something a bit more abstract today. This is the bud of an unopened sunflower.

I was inspired by a macro image I saw a year or so ago by a young up and coming photographer, Andrew Moore. In his image the plant seems to be reaching up out of a cool mist of bokeh.

When I shot this image that was what I was going for, but as I began to process it it took on a bit of a different feel. Now it’s almost something alien. Perhaps something from the world of Lovecraft’s Cthulhu.
