This image was shot for the 2010 Photo challenge over on Photochallenge.org. This year instead of shooting a different image everyday day all year, it’s one theme a month, post one image for that theme a week. February’s challenge theme is Natural Landscape, which is turning out to be a bit more difficult than i expected.

A natural landscape is a landscape scene that at least appears to be untouched by humanity. So, no fence post, no planted crops, no buildings in the distance, no roads, sidewalks, etc. In this challenge I find myself shooting landscapes with my telephoto lens, so that I can take a much more narrow slice of the scene, or shoot between houses and roads, etc. It’s taken a more critical eye and some creative framing. Which I guess is the point of this being a photo challenge and not just a snap a pic a week thingy…. :)
