These flowers were growing out of the side of the Erie Canal, in a crack in the concrete.  The background is the canal water.   It made for a simple yet effective image.  As of today it has over 30 faves on Zooomr and has been hanging out on the Discover 100 in the last year collumn for a few weeks now.
