I don’t have the patience or a long enough lens for bird photography.  But sometimes you just get lucky.

I parked my car under a tree to take a hike into Lower Falls Park on my lunch hour a few days ago and this bird and some friends were in the tree right above me.  I scared most of them away when I opened my moon roof to get a shot, but this one just flew a bit higher, hence the somewhat obscuring branches.  It took some manual focus to get him due to the obstructions but she was nice enough to wait for me.

I’m guessing this is a common sparrow here, but I’m not really sure.
