Flat Rock Sunset

Sure, it’s a cliche. I mean everyone who has ever had any sort of a camera shoots a sunset at some point, there are so many sunsets shared online that it’s hard to see any of them for the striking natural daily phenomenon that they are.

But… every now and then even the most jaded photog is presented with a view that makes him stop and get his gear out, just one more time.

An older image of mine, but as I need to repopulate this site with six images to get the front page working properly I figured maybe I should do a “best of.” Or at least post some of my own personal favorites.

This is a close up of the inside of a rare Curtis-Wright Turbojet engine. They had a cutaway at the Glenn Curtiss museum. I think the metal tabs are part of the air cooling system. Air would pass through them wicking away heat. I used a color-monochrome filter add some dimension to an all grey image.

This is the first official post on the new site design, I may have to pop up a bunch more soon to get this thing working properly, we’ll see. Anyway, poke around let me know what you think, I’m still tweaking things, so any suggestions or comments would great.

I couldn’t believe how long it had been since I posted something here. My apologies, I will try and do better, the change of seasons here in the north east has is already inspiring me to get out and shoot more.

This is an HDR image of a field along Rt 370 between Rochester and Syracuse. A handheld three shot series shot from my car merged together in Photomatix.
